sunny monday

it's warm out. (26C/79F). the sun is shining and i love it. although i'm ready for fall to come (even though it means some crappy things). anyway. will do some grocery shopping, planning and perhaps visit thirsty monk (beer-place) later. have been doing laundry and some cleaning today = no school work at all. GAH. have no discipline. well, it will come. one day.

love this pic of zola. (i know, can't stop posting pics of our little girl). deal with it.

thoughts about fame, the movie

as i told you yesterday (link) we went to see fame at the movies. and..it was like a show full of musical numbers. not a really deep, deep story. if you love musicals, dancing and music it's a movie too see. surprised..hehe. i liked it. it was not an amazing, wonderful and wordless movie, but it was good!! loved the colors in it. as my love said; "it's like black and white but in colors". and it was...like warm and cold at the same time. hard to explain, but think the pics that i posted yesterday tell you some about it at least. anyway, one of my favorites was this number performed by naturi naughton called "Out Here on My Own". Check(/listen) it out! It's this (link) picture from the movie.

Sometimes I wonder
Where I've been
Who I am, do I fit in?
Make-believing is hard alone
Out here, on my own

We're always proving
Who we are
Always reaching
For that rising star
To guide me far
And shine me home
Out here on my own

When I'm down and feeling blue
I close my eyes so I can be with you
Oh, baby, be strong for me
Baby, belong to me
Help me through
Help me need you

Until the morning sun appears
Making light of all my fears
I dry the tears I've never shown
out here on my own

But when I'm down and feeling blue
I close my eyes so I can be with you
Oh, baby, be strong for me
Baby, belong to me
Help me through
Help me need you

Sometimes I wonder
Where I've been
Who I am, do I fit in?
I may not win
But I can't be thrown
Out here on my own
On my own

a swede or an american?

i sort of see me as both nowadays. like half-half (but skip the milk/cream part).
my love is an american and she is my soul, my everything.
i have an american and a swedish family and i am proud of both. so proud.

one thing is really funny though..i always feel really proud of sweden when i'm in the states.
i mean, i'm never as much swede as i am when i'm here in the states. isn't that funny? like now.
the sounds (link) are gonna play here in asheville this weekend. makes me wanna go, and why?
well..they are a pretty famous band BUT they are also from sweden! oh, yes!
t's only 15 bucks too = cheap! and i have never been to the orange peel where they are gonna play.

the only crappy thing is the day.

a   s u n d a y. (and my love has to work the day after...meh.)

don't know if we're gonna go, but it surely made me think about my american/swedish life.
interesting, big time.

pics here (the sounds) & here (the orange peel)

the make-over of the apartment

thursday - birthday

- been texting/talking on the phone every now and then
- played with zola

gonna bake a cake/brownie now since it's my love's BIRTHDAY today!
grattis, my love! you are my everything. ♥

later on #1: eat at a restaurant with my love and my love's parents.
later on #2: have a friend over and watch the season start of grey's anatomy.

woo hoo.

it's unfair.

i have plenty of pics that i keep on my hard drive. so many memories. good times, adventures, family and friends, hard times and so on...i remember taking the picture above (my feet and part of my legs). a day when i spent time with my cousin and we were hanging out downtown. i also met her boyfriend for the first time. good day. good time. wish that everyone could experience good times and not be stuck in so many hard things. it's unfair.

yesterday's road trip

we went to charlotte.
gave IKEA a visit...

...and stayed for 5 hours (first time my love's parents were there)!

left with a couch, candles, glasses, coasters, candle holders, Swedish food/candy, pillow cases...AND a great, brand- new idea of a home! yay. (it's one of our dreams to fix that).

Welcome to "our" apartment! (but with a few changes)

My love's parents' favorite kitchen!
AND guess what?!? We just got a phone call with the question if we wanted to go back to IKEA today. Crazy. But we need a few more things..AWESOME! Love this.

road trip

we are off for another road trip. yay! pics will be posted later on.
think IKEA will be at least one of the stops.

Welcome home Zola!

She's an amazing cat. Born in July 2007, found and taken to a cat shelter. Last Tuesday was the first time we met her and she charmed us BIG TIME with all her snuggeling moments and friendliness. She's very talkative and cuddly. It seems like she feels at home already and has slept in our bed, played, found cozy places, eaten and used her litterbox. She's a good girl.
We love you Zola and welcome home!

shopping

Guess why?! =)

august rush.

We went for some shopping yesterday afternoon and bought a couple of movies. Since my cousin Julia every now and then writes about movies she thinks are good, I was thinking that I just have to tell you all about "August Rush" - an amazing movie, I think! Cast as Keri Russel, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Robin Williams.

"This is a story of a music prodigy. Lyla is a renowned and beautiful cellist and Louis is a bass player in club. Lyla and Louis falls in love once they meet each other following the music. Since they have different life, they have to separate without seeing each other once again. However, Lyla has had their baby-Evan, a prodigy born to music. Lyla has an accident and bears the baby but Lyla's father gives the baby to an orphanage but does not tell her this in case of affecting her career. After that, both Louis and Lyla give up the music career. Eleven years later, the poor little Evan believes that their parents are waiting for him and goes to New York to find his parents. In New York, his music gift leads him to success but also gives him some trouble...." from imdb.com
